I am quite saddened to learn that Roy has passed away. I had lost contact for weeks, knew of his health problems and I feared the worst when he didn t make it online as he usually did.Roy and I met in Thailand about 5 years ago. Jammed and basked in the afternoon sun over cold Chang beers. I loved his stories about what he lived and witnessed in the sixties and on. Both bass players, he often gave me a cd of his music (all of his albums and more) that I would listen to for hours and hours around the house and when driving. Hooked (like the song about Streamline). He left Thailand wanting to come back and I stayed wanting to leave… If I m not mistaken, he had finished writing his memoirs which he sometimes read to me in part. He also leaves behind a treasure trove of new material he wrote over the years, wonderful music and words. Some of those cd s were partly damaged or lost, I hope it is all someday available to the public so I can replay them.I ll never forget you Roy Michaels/Loy Bones, my dear friend, goodbye. AL
